I will work with your child on a 1:1 basis in your own home, providing them with a bespoke learning package, focusing on their needs and aspirations. I integrate therapeutic approaches throughout my teaching and learning. I strongly believe that learning should be ‘irresistible’ and pitched at the right level of communication and cognitive development. I use real objects and photos as much as possible when creating my learning resources. I believe that all learning should be meaningful and functional so my pupils are able to apply their knowledge in real life situations. I focus on developing communication skills, problem solving, flexibility, self-regulation and resourcefulness. I use a wide range of contexts to make my teaching engaging and appealing.

I will help your child develop their literacy and numeracy skills, in line with their development and needs, whether they are following a conventional pathway or need an alternative one with a focus on functional skills. I will be able to create an individualised learning programme for them, incorporating their communication targets and catering for their sensory needs through various therapeutic approaches.
